About Us

Established in 1966, the Association of Eastern Historical Societies Inc. (AOEHS) is a network of historical societies in the region east of Melbourne.

AOEHS was formerly known as the Committee of Eastern Historical Societies.

Sixteen historical societies belong to AOEHS.   AOEHS holds four meetings a year - a general meeting in February, a conference in April, a workshop or lunch and speaker in July and the AGM in September.

As well as providing information on current practice for preserving and promoting local history, AOEHS provides a valuable network for members and the opportunity for members to visit other societies and places of interest.

Our newsletter provides an additional information resource for member organisations.
