 45th Annual Conference and Formal Lunch

Saturday 14 May 2011, from 10.00am to 4.30pm

at the Karralyka Centre, Mines Road, Ringwood East

Cost is $30 per head (for members of an AEHS society), otherwise $50 per head


Guest Speakers:

Dr. Alan Gregory, who will speak on the recent launch of his book about the educational career of Bill Woodfull, the Australian Test Cricketer of the 1920s and 1930s. Bill Woodfull's educational career included being Principal of Box Hill High School, Melbourne High School and Upwey High School. There will be copies of the book for sale on the day.

Sue Thompson, who will speak on the life of Dame Nellie Melba. May 2011 is the 150th anniversary of Melba's birth. Melba's links with the Lilydale area remained strong throughout her life. The Lilydale Historical Society are offering a range of Melba activities during the month of May (details available on this web-site).

Russ Haines, who will speak on Murder in Ringwood. Russ has been researching a particularly fascinating episode in the history of Ringwood, which led to lengthy litigation.


The Lunch will be a formal sit-down meal. The programme for the day includes:

* Participants must pay to attend all day and enjoy all food and drinks offered. We are unable to offer a package that does not include any food or part day rate.


Various local and family history organisations will be promoting and selling their goods and services. Member societies of the AEHS are offered stall or table space on the sidelines of the Conference.
